Geoffrey J. Deutsch serves as the president of Armed Forces Services Corporation (AFSC)/Magellan Federal. Deutsch has spent nearly 25 years helping transform large systems for delivering healthcare and human services. He began his career as a “turnaround” executive with international hospital systems, health technology companies, case management firms and human service organizations where he established a record of rapid, breakthrough performance improvements. Most of his work has dealt with the government and non-profit sectors, implementing “business disciplines” for innovation and quality into mission-driven organizations. He was introduced to the non-profit sector when he was recruited to help transform the American Red Cross Blood Program. As a volunteer, Deutsch has supported the presidents and boards of several national charities, with a focus on applying business principals to the non-profit sector. He began working with AFSC as a volunteer in 2001 and was named its president in 2006. Geoff holds a B.S. in Architecture from the University of Virginia and an M.B.A. from Colgate Darden Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Virginia.
